Doing life together takes intentionality. It is easy to get swept up in the everyday busyness of life. we’ve got busy family schedules, we’re up to our knees in work, and we’re focused on catching up on everything we missed right before we have to fall asleep. All of that is real and part of life. But what I’ve learned is doing that alone, actually isolates me further and keeps me from experiencing the fullness of life that Jesus has for us. When we live out our own activation story, living redeemed and knowing God’s grace, we can see the bigger picture unfoldinging through the Kingdom of God. That there are not just people that God is bringing into your life to impact you, but there are people that He is calling for you to impact.
A huge piece of that is being part of a relational body that strives to demonstrate the relationship we can have with God.
Intentionality to be part of each other’s lives needs both the spontaneous and the rhythm. At Kingship we encourage you to be responsive to what/who God puts on your heart. Interrupt your routine to bless someone or reach out to share a meal together. God’s inviting us sometimes to take the initiative. This shows more than anything that the love we have for one another is genuine. But we also need to be in regular habit of meeting together to live out our commitment to God and one another. Just as it is good for us to gather regularly as a whole body to worship, its also important to meet to together in each other’s homes or in the community.
These set times throughout the year allow us to spend dedicated and committed time towards encouraging and building each other up by studying the Bible together. Our Group life is consistently centered around Men’s & Women’s Groups as well as other opportunities to strengthen the family and individuals in their discipleship. We see a huge mandate in scripture over the importance of being a multi-generational church. Older Men and Younger Men sharpening each other … Older women teaching younger women.
For some, Group life is the next step in discovering more about Jesus… But those, who might think they are well versed in this Jesus stuff. Group Life is still just as crucial.
Being in the Word of God together is what creates a meaningful and life-filled community. Something so rich and deep as God’s Word is what makes the roots we plant stronger. The value and truth we live by, built for any season of life. In storms or dry desert seasons, it’s Gods Word that nurtures our community like water to a tree. A hope that has stability, steadfast love, and confidence in the weathered. When we look to scripture, God tells us the best condition to thrive. And its not alone. Consider joining the next group life and start being in the rhythm of doing life together.
